| Welcome to the Wheat Ridge Avalanche Girls U-14 Team Web Site! The team is formed from Colorado State-League competitive players drawn from the West Denver-Metro area. Coaches Scott Kanger and Dave Osse are dedicated to providing a positive environment for the advanced player. Our purpose is to instruct the advanced youth player with critical emphasis on techniques, tactics, physical fitness, and the psychology of the soccer athlete; All while continuing to focus on the universal ethics and values which transcend the "world's beautiful sport." Latent among the many facets of soccer instruction and play, our fun and competitive environment offers invaluable lessons in learning how to win and more importantly, how to lose; pride in our accomplishments and humility and passion from our failures; learning how to establish and achieve our goals- as individuals and as a team; the value of inputting work ethic to affect a cause; respect, discipline, focus, perspective, leadership, confidence, and many more.
